Catching Fire

I have read Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins this summer. When President Snow announced that victors had to go to the Hunger Games again, I wasn't surprised. I knew that Snow wanted Katniss killed, but I did wonder if that really was the rule or if he had just made it up on the spot. I knew that Peeta would take Hamitch's spot if he were to get drawn because of his love and affection of Katniss. I can't even imagine what it must of felt like having to almost die once and then being told you have to do it again. I would be thinking I am going to die because I can't get lucky twice and all of the people know how the game is played and have won it before.

I couldn't put this book down. I read it every where I went, I read it in the car, I read it on vacation, and I read it when I was going to sleep. I can't wait for the movie! I imagined the arena a place where the water is a shimming blue and the sky is a deceiving bright blue. I think it was so clever for them to think of the arena as a clock. I think it being a clock must've been hard though because you couldn't set up camp somewhere for a long time, you had to move with the clock; not against it. I also think it was very cleaver of Hamitch to have people that he wanted as allies to wear some type of Mokingjay symbol.

I love how the author has Katniss being the narrator. It makes me feel like I am there talking to all the people and I can see everything there, like the plants and the water. I don't think I could every be as great an archer as Katniss, I mean to be able to shoot anything with a 20 foot radius- that's pretty cool. Well, that's my blog about Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins.
