The Hunger Games

I finished The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and I loved it! I loved the action and the intensiveness of it all. How one second Katniss was gathering nuts and berries with Rue, and then singing her to sleep. Things happened just in a blink of an eye. I was sooo hooked on this book, in one day I read more than one-hundred and eighty (180) pages. I couldn't imagine if had to fight to the death with twenty-three people trying to kill me, I know I would never survive.

When Katniss took out the night lock from her bag, two things went through my mind; one- they're going to die because nobody is going to save them (which I was proved wrong), and two- if the two main characters die in this book, how can you make two other books-Catching Fire and Monkingjay.  I though that it was pretty clever of Katniss to pull out the night lock be cause Panam has to have a winner. I never would have thought of that, but I guess that's why Katniss is a clever girl.

Peeta definitely surprised me when he said that he loved Katniss. I thought he would love somebody who he hangs out with at school maybe, just about anyone but Katniss. Also by the way whenever Katniss was with Peeta she thought about Gale said that she might not know it, but she probably doesn't just think of Gale as a friend.

I love the way the author shows and doesn't tell, she doesn't just say, "I'm bleeding." she says it in a way so that the reader can picture Katniss bleeding," My arm was gushing out blood and I thought that I might just lie here and bleed to death." So, you get two more things by her showing it and not telling it: you got that is was gushing, and there was a lot of blood. That is one thing that I loved that Suzanne Collins did. Well I should wrap it up and get to reading Monkingjay.
